About
Here’s the place where I’m supposed to come up with some info for you about me.
Once upon a time…
Alright. I won’t take you back quite that far;-)
Though it might be a mistake, I don’t have any plans of being any different online than I am sitting here in 3-D writing this.
I tend to mix my business with pleasure because life is flat-out, way too short!
I’ve been online a few years now, mainly studying the ins, outs, ups and downs of Internet Marketing. I’ve always been interested in the hows and whys of the way things work as related to people.
A good deal of my background is in the real-world sales trench, which I find isn’t so altogether different from that of the net, except that I don’t have to shave if I don’t feel like it. I can also change a presentation after I’ve given it.
That comes in handy.
One of the more important benefits to me online is, I don’t have to answer to anyone higher up the chain than you. (Is it ok for me to say that, honey?)
I’m still learning to work with Wordpress, so things may not flow or be positioned the way I might intend.
That’s life.
I suppose I can write just about anything here, since this is my website, but to be fair, the page is called “About,” so I probably should tell you a little about myself.
I’m known by several nicknames, most of which I’m proud.
Papa, Swashbuckler, Wordwrangler, and a few select others which will remain unspoken in mixed company.
I have to admit, there’s something about hearing my kids, even my married daughter, call me Papa. It still implies the authority of the patriarch of the family, while also being toned down to refer to that friendly fella that gets lots of hugs, and goofs around with you.
That title also doesn’t get tagged with the sharp edges associated with the disciplinarian aspects inherent with the job.
Yeah. All in all, I think I like that title best.
I’m the family poet lauriette. Weddings, funerals, christenings, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and even Ground-Hog Day, are all occasions that have found themselves interwoven between words and emotions.
Ground-Hog Day?
Yeah. That’s our wedding anniversary, and though Punxsutawney Phil wasn’t my best man, I’ve gotten to know him fairly well over the years, and have written a few poems for the occasion.
I like to tell people that every Groundhog Day, when I wake up, if I see my shadow we stay married for another year. Fortunately for me, my wife, Carrie, sees to it that there’s a light on when I wake up, insuring that I see my shadow;-)
Regarding the poetic; there’s a dimension located between the world of words and that of emotions where ideas are allowed to touch both worlds, yet belong to neither.
It’s a sanctuary where I am allowed to embrace and be embraced by “The Spirit”, and my poetry (at least the best of it) is influenced by that spirit.
You might call that pretty darned metaphysical.
I prefer supernatural.
More later, if you like.
Oh. And if you do like, let me know at my contact page . (I haven’t quite figured out how to place a doggoned comment tag in this page yet, but I will;-)
